Rise in the cases of gonorrhea, syphilis and chlamydia for 5th consecutive year

The cases of the new chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis have seen a rise in the United States at a higher rate for the fifth year running which has raised concerns among the health officials.

The rates were published in the new surveillance report of the Sexually Transmitted Diseases which had been created by the CDC or the Centre for disease control and prevention in the United States.

The total number of infections diagnosed put together were2.4 million as per the epidemiologist who had helped in the report. This figure was for the last one year alone.

She also said that this is the most number of cases ever recorded by CDC.

The increase is a sharp turn from the historically low of the infections that are transmitted sexually which has seen a decline since 1941 for decades.

The director of the STD prevention division of the CDC, Gail Bolan has written in the report that it wasn’t very long ago when gonorrhea rates had been at their historic lows, syphilis had been close to being eliminated and they were able to make the STD prevention advances evident.

The rise in the amount of cases can be attributed to the many possible causes. The causes for them are the usage of condoms and a rise in the number of people who are getting themselves tested which would mean that the officials are maybe more aware of the issue’s reach.

The latest rate of the infection has potential consequences which could be troubling.

They have said that a lot of young women are still having chlamydial infections which are not diagnosed yet which puts them at the risk of infertility.
