GOAT, the online sneaker marketplace, is extending into accessories and apparel. This week, it declared that it is including “luxury and contemporary brands,” comprising Maison Margiela, Acne Studios, Stussy, Off-White, Saint Laurent, and Gucci.
Currently, accessories and apparel are only accessible on Android and iOS apps of GOAT, but they will shortly be accessible on the firm’s WeChat mini project in China and GOAT.com. Precisely this month, GOAT included AR feature that allows consumers “try on” shoes before they make a buyout, odds are we will see GOAT do same stuff with its accessories and apparel.
“We are only in the infant phases on GOAT for apparel,” claimed Daishin Sugano, co-founder, to the media in an interview. “We are beginning with the major market, but we have plans for resale extension.”
On a related note, scoring a limited-version Air Jordans or Vans just got simpler for people in China. GOAT earlier declared their official roll out in China with a new domestic app just for people in China, together with a WeChat edition customized for the messaging application. Earlier, people in China depended on the US app to sell and buy shoes. The country has already developed to turn out to be second-largest market for GOAT, just after the US.
“The sneaker society has tremendously developed in China, particularly with the advent of hip hop culture and basketball. So it is no shock the requirement for shoes has developed too,” claimed CEO and co-founder at GOAT Group, Eddy Lu, claimed to the media in an interview. Presently, the GOAT group has a facility in Hong Kong and headquarters in Shanghai.
A spokesperson at GOAT claimed to the media that apart from localizing the language via the native application, the firm’s WeChat experience will aim for people in China where they invest most of their time online.
